‘You Get Pissed’: Wendy Williams’ Brother Speaks Out About Wendy’s Ex Kevin Hunter and the Loss of Their Mother

Talk show host Wendy Williams still hasn’t returned to her show, and many rumors have been flying around about her physical and mental well-being. Her younger brother, Tommy Williams, recently spoke to these rumors and the struggles that the entire family has been facing, including Wendy.

Williams lost her mother and divorced her husband, Kevin Hunter, in late 2020. “We’ve all been struggling with and I can speak for myself definitely is the passing of our mother, the matriarch of the family. It’s not easy,” Tommy said in a interview with The Sun tabloid published on Dec. 18.

Having both of those major life changes happen in such a short time frame apparently is still extracting a toll from Wendy. It’s also evident that Tommy views the breakup as a betrayal as well.

“You get pissed,” Tommy said. “I’ll say, from my stance, I was disappointed. You break bread with people and he was a member of the family who sat at the table with my parents.”

He went on to say that he doesn’t have any ill will toward Wendy’s ex. “I don’t have any enemies; I wouldn’t start with Kevin Hunter — we’re all God’s children and we’re all here on borrowed time. We all make very big mistakes at times, and we all have regrets during our lives.”

In addition to these losses in her life, there have been reports that Wendy hasn’t returned to host her show because she is suffering from the effects of early-onset dementia. Tommy also rebutted those rumors.

He told The Sun that Wendy hasn’t been “displaying that type of behavior” to him or the rest of the family. “We haven’t had any alerts like that and I haven’t seen anything like that or have had conversations with her that would lead me to believe that,” Tommy said.

However, Wendy has admitted to a series of maladies that could be contributing to her delay in getting back to work. She suffers from thyroid disorder Graves’ disease and lymphedema, which when her ankles swell makes it difficult for her to walk.

Wendy has also struggled with alcoholism and substance abuse. Recently, she was seen leaving a health care facility in Florida and needed assistance walking to her car. She had previously been to rehab back in 2019. An unknown source said that prior to her hospitalization, she had been drinking every day, “even while filming the show.”

Amidst all of this information about her personal life, Wendy took to Instagram last month to share a statement with her fans about her health and whether or not she would be returning to work.

“As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic, the post began. “I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that are taking longer than we expected. I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready. I love spending my mornings with you all and I’m doing everything I can to get back to work, but right now Wendy has to focus on Wendy. I love you for watching.”
