Haddish and Common reportedly split last month after dating for more than a year. Sources supposedly close to the exes claimed that busy schedules were the reason behind the breakup. The rapper later confirmed the reports published by People magazine and stated the former couple came to a mutual agreement to go their separate ways. The pair first met on the set of 2019’s “The Kitchen.”
In the Dec. 22 interview with host Jason Lee, Haddish shared that she wasn’t warned about the People magazine article that provided alleged details surrounding their breakup. She revealed she found out about it through her publicist, who later told her they weren’t publicly responding to the publication. Haddish wrapped up the statement by saying she doesn’t know who leaked the information to the public, despite both parties’ camps learning about the breakup early on.
The 42-year-old also expressed how she felt about the relationship being over. She said, “I’m fine with it. It’s going to be new opportunities.” Haddish added despite being OK with the breakup, she does miss Common.
“I miss him. I miss him from time to time, but that’s with any relationship, intimate relationship that you might have, you miss them. But I’m fine with it.” When addressing Common’s interview and the busy schedule claims, Haddish admitted she thought the same thoughts everybody mentioned in the comments.
As Lee began to elaborate that many mentioned the rapper appeared to be the common denominator in his failed relationships, She quipped, “He might be the type of person that never really settles with somebody. Maybe he’s like, you know, like a bee going from flower to flower to flower. I don’t know. I wish him nothing but joy and happiness, you know. He will always be cool.”
When Lee pressed Haddish to share how she really felt about his comments, the actress claimed that she was disappointed despite not having hard feelings for the “Just Wright” star. She said, “I was disappointed. I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but OK.'”
Haddish’s interview comes less than two weeks after the “Girls Trip” star threw shots at her ex after encountering his look-alike during her Colombia getaway.
