Soulja Boy Ditches Social Media, Kicks Former Pals Out of His Crib In Wake of His Release from Jail

Days after Soulja Boy was released early from jail, it appears the rapper is taking measured steps to ensure he appeases fans’ requests to stay out of trouble.

The Atlanta MC was set free from a Van Nuys, California, jail on July 14 after he was sent there in April for violating probation. Initially, he was set to spend seven months behind bars after an investigation into a woman’s claims she had been kidnapped by the star. Those claims later fizzled, but a search of Soulja’s home found he had ammunition in the residence. Additionally, the rapper was accused of lying about the number of community hours he completed as part of his probation.

The probation was tied to authorities finding a loaded gun in Soulja’s car in 2014.

It was his second jail sentence in a matter of months. Adding insult to injury, Soulja’s home was burglarized while he was away, the suspects taunting him on Instagram Live.

Perhaps the publicity surrounding his legal woes has led Soulja to reconsider who he surrounds himself with.

Sources told TMZ Sunday the rapper has been giving folks the ax from his inner circle. He’s also been limiting the time he spends on his once-popular social media haunts of Instagram and Twitter.

Apparently, the most major shift is Soulja booting lots of folks from his San Fernando Valley home, which was ransacked when he was jailed.

The suspects stole $500,000 in money and jewelry as well as the star’s iPhone, which they used to torment him on IG Live. Reportedly, Soulja believed the theft was an inside job.

The burglary is also said to be why the rapper is keeping a low profile online. Supposedly, the star remains upset about what happened and is looking to keep quiet and stay out of the public eye.

Back when he was jailed, however, Soulja managed to be somewhat active on Instagram. His last post, dated June 19, saw him promoting new music with electronic DJ duo Almost Famous.

“My new track #BREAKOUT with @almost is out now πŸŽ΅πŸ†˜ Don’t miss out on the video to see me kick @jakepaul A$$ πŸ‘ŠπŸΌπŸ‘ŠπŸΌπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ Link in BIO πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Big Drakooo πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’°πŸ’°,” he wrote in the caption of a clip of the music video.
