‘She’s Back’: Shaunie O’Neal Says ‘Basketball Wives’ Season Eight Will Include Tami Roman

Speculation has been running rampant in the last couple months about whether or not Tami Roman will return on “Basketball Wives” this season. Now, star and executive producer Shaunie O’Neal has confirmed Roman will be on the upcoming season.

The revelation came within the comments of Instagram recently and “Basketball Wives” fan account @thebbwtea captured the responses and shared it with fans Friday, March 22.

“I truly hope Tami doesn’t get back on that mess show @tamiroman Run,” an Instagram user said.

The comment led to a response from O’Neal making it official that Roman has resumed her role on the VH1 reality show for season eight.

“She’s back 🥰” O’Neal replied.

“I been telling y’all #TamiRoman Coming back but y’all don’t believe me🤷🏽‍♀️Now y’all heard it from the BOSS!🙌🏼😍#BasketBallWives #BBWLA,” the fan account wrote in a comment of the screenshot of the exchange.tami roman

The response to the news was mixed.

“I’m glad she’s coming back🙌🙌”

“Y’all knew good and well tami wasn’t leaving bbw gives her her biggest check and gives her a platform to tell about upcoming projects.”

“I sure hate it.”

“Ugh.”

Still, most seemed glad that Roman will be back on their screens when “Basketball Wives” comes back in June, which O’Neal also confirmed.

Filming has been underway since at least January and while mainstays like Jackie Christie and Evelyn Lozada and former newcomers  CeCe Gutierrez and Ogom “OG” Chijindu have all been seen in front of the cameras, Roman has been inexplicably absent.

However, there was a hint that Roman would come back before. A month ago, a Los Angeles fitness center uploaded a photo of Roman with O.G. and included a movie emoji in the caption.

“When the Basketball Wives @tamiroman & @iheartog come to get their booties kicked by @fitfabulousfoodie #basketballwives #basketballwives🎥”  the social media manager of the said accompanying the photo.

The clearest address of Roman’s status on the show was in January when the reality star told “Entertainment Tonight” she was still in talks to appear on the program.

“You know, I actually loved doing ‘Basketball Wives,’” she said. “I’m just at a place right now where it’s about protecting my energy and my space and my zen. I have to protect it. And so, even within the ‘Basketball Wives’ world, if I were to go back, certain changes would have to be made for me to be comfortable in that environment. But we’re still in talks. I don’t necessarily know if I’ll return, but we are talking about how everybody can be comfortable in that environment.”
