‘Not All Lighting Is Good Lighting’: Jada Pinkett Smith’s Inspirational Video Derails When Fans Focus on Her Skin

Emmy Award-winning actress Jada Pinkett-Smith blessed her 11 million Instagram followers with positive affirmations earlier this week. However, her post that seemingly was made to teach the understanding of forgiveness quickly derailed after fans couldn’t stop commenting on the “Girls Trip” star’s face in the clip.

The “Red Table Talk” co-host appeared bald and illuminated as ever in the brief 12-second clip. “Sorry and thank you,” the 50-year-old said, while staring dead into the camera. “ And by the way, you’re welcome.” “When you start to understand the cycle of forgiveness,” the “Matrix: Reloaded” star wrote in the caption.

The actress restricted the post’s comments section, but that didn’t stop online users from watching it over 321,938 times. The video also made its way to various blog sites where fans couldn’t stop chatting about the amount of light hitting the actress’ face in the video, including one Instagram user who wrote, “Not all lighting is good lighting …” The 164 other users who liked the comment appeared to agree as well.

“Lmaoooo “shining on this good Tuesday,” another person commented. “Her head is distracting me from the actual message,” quipped a third person. “It’s giving handsome squidward …” a fourth person wrote.

Toward the end of last year, Pinkett-Smith gave her followers an update on her hair journey. The “Set It Off” star revealed previously that she was dealing with alopecia areata. In the past year, she has become more comfortable living with hair loss.

During an episode of her hit talk show “Red Table Talk,” she explained to her many fans who expressed concern that she used to wear turbans and would always cut her hair because she was experiencing hair loss.

“It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands, and I was just like, ‘Oh my god, am I going bald?’ It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That’s why I cut my hair and why I continue to cut it.”
