Lori Harvey Shares the Key to Maintaining a Healthy Relationship with Michael B. Jordan

Lori Harvey revealed the secrets to maintaining a well-rounded relationship with her boyfriend Michael B. Jordan during a recent interview with PopSugar.

Harvey, who was previously linked to Trey Songz, Diddy, Lewis Hamilton, Future and Memphis Depay, began dating Jordan in November 2020. The pair ultimately confirmed their relationship months later, in January 2021, by sharing intimate snapshots on their respective social media accounts.

Harvey told the publication on Tuesday, Jan. 25, that friendship and communication are the focal points to a successful union. She said, “Always communicate. Overcommunicate, even, so you are always on the same page.”

Harvey continued, “Also, be friends first. You know how sometimes you fight with your siblings and, of course, you love them, but you’re like, ‘I don’t even like you right now’? It’s important to always be friends whether you like the person.”

In the article, the 25-year-old also addressed the public scrutiny she often faces in her comments sections when uploading intimate moments with Jordan. Harvey in order to not let the negative remarks take a toll on her, she chooses to prioritize her mental health.

“It can be a breeding ground for negativity — it can get really toxic and just take a toll on people’s mental health,” she said. “I had to start prioritizing my mental health as I got older with things that were affecting me negatively.”

This isn’t the first time Harvey candidly discussed her relationship with the “Creed” actor. In June, the SKN by LH CEO described how, as public figures, they maintain their privacy on social media.

The star told Bustle, “I think we’re both very private people naturally. So we just decide, if we take a picture or whatever it is, do you want to post this? Do we not? We have a conversation about it, like, ‘You want to post this or we keep this to ourselves?’ We know there are people that love and support us and want to see us. So [we want to] give just enough, but keep the majority of it just for us. We’re trying to find a balance.”
