Tiffany Haddish is bringing in the New Year’s by going to enjoy her grandfather’s village once again in Eritrea.
The comedian has been sharing videos and pictures since Dec. 28 about her expedition. In her Tuesday post, she shared three clips of her dancing with the people of Eritrea and two more of her receiving land along with a plaque with her name on it, which stated her residence in Geza Keren, Eritrea. She was also able to receive her ID there.
She wrote, “I am so happy to be welcome by my Grandfather’s village so warmly. I Love my People. #Eritrea.” In the second post, one photo showed a smiling Haddish wrapped up in what looked like a bunch of quilts. But the next photo showed her seemingly sitting in something next to a woman named Hadnet Keleta. According to her Linkedin, Keleta is Head of Public and Community Affairs at Embassy of Eritrea in Washington.
In this post, Haddish detailed her experience at the spa in Eritrea called Tsh. She wrote, “They put butter in my hair, turmeric & honey on my face, Sesame oil all over my body oh and butter in my hot box. Then they put burning wood in a hole in the ground and you sit in the smoke and sweat. Baby I am ready to be tasted BRING IN THE MEN. You must try if you come to Asmara. Thank you @hadnetkeleta for taking me I feel Great. #vaginalsmoking.”
In her most recent post, Haddish and Keleta, apparently joined the president of Eritrea to speak about the future of the youth. She did not go into detail about what the two discussed, but she shared several photos of them together and one of her even holding a baby.
“I talked with the President today about the Future of the people. The youth have a lot to look forward to. They will know what true wealth is. #Eritrea #ministerofinspiration,” she wrote.
Haddish got to visit Eritrea for the first time in 2018, and she also buried her father during her visit. The next year, she went back and received her citizenship.
