Dr. Dre Reportedly Agrees to Pay Ex-Wife $100 Million In Divorce Settlement

Dr. Dres divorce to Nicole Young is finalized, but the Grammy-winning producer must now pay up $100 million to the former lawyer as part of their agreement, bringing their rocky divorce journey to an end.

According to TMZ, who initially broke the news, as part of their divorce agreement, Young will be required to pay her own legal fees, which the outlet noted could cost her millions.

The Death Row record label co-founder, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, will pay his ex-wife $50 million now and the remaining $50 million sometime next year. In addition, the 56-year-old will get to keep seven properties, including the Malibu home that Young is reportedly residing in. She will be required to move out by the end of the month.

According to unidentified sources that spoke with the news outlet, Young would have received more out of the agreement had she accepted a deal presented to her last year. “She could have even been on the field for the Super Bowl halftime show as a friendly ex-wife,” the source said, referencing the upcoming show that Dre is set to perform at alongside Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige.

Rolling Stone reported that the Compton native wouldn’t have to worry about losing his Apple stock, six vehicles, the rights to his master recordings, and trademarks that he owns, as he will get to keep those as part of the agreement.

As for Young, the attorney will get four cars, including a Rolls-Royce, a Range Rover, an Escalade limousine, and a Spyder motorcycle. She will also keep her jewelry and any cash and money in her bank accounts.

The $100 million settlement comes after a tumultuous 18-month proceeding that played out in the public eye after Young filed for divorce in June 2020 after 24 years of marriage. The former couple share two children, 20-year-old Truly and 24-year-old Truice.

Earlier this month, Dre celebrated with his friend Breyon Prescott, CEO of Chameleon Entertainment. Prescott shared a photo of the producer sitting in a chair, arms wide open, donning a large smile with the words “Divorced AF” spelled out in silver balloons in the background.
