Keyshia Cole‘s boyfriend Niko Khale is blazing the trail as a bonus dad.
The 24-year-old rapper took to Instagram on Sunday, June 28 and posted a video that shows him giving Cole’s 10-year-old son Daniel Gibson Jr. a haircut. “We ‘gon just tighten up his mohawk,” Khale said in the clip before turning to DJ. “So you can send it to your little girlfriends, right?”
DJ and the “Sonshine” rapper smiled at each other for a few seconds. Khale wrote in his video caption, “Had to get my youngin right @daniel_gibsonjr 💪🏾 Barbers how’d I do ?”
The father of one gained respect from social media users, who crowned him as an “awesome stepfather.” One fan even commented, “Stepfathers are the real MVP in most relationship 👌,” while a second person called him a “great stepdad.”
“Looks Awesome!!! 😊 Great job Dad!!” exclaimed another fan. Someone else followed up with a remark and wrote, “Stepdad winning 😘🙏🏾 I love this family I swear. Keyshia so lucky 💞.”
Khale and Cole have 10-month-old son Tobias Khale together, but the “Love” artist shares DJ with estranged husband and former NBA player Daniel “Booby” Gibson.
In September 2017, Cole filed for divorce from Gibson, whom she wed in 2011. She listed the date of separation as Oct. 31, 2014. Allegedly, their marriage fell apart after the basketball player cheated on her.
The former couple were required to appear in a Los Angeles County court for a hearing on March 16, after a judge warned them to move on with their divorce or have it dismissed. In January 2019, Cole said on Instagram that the custody agreement over DJ was preventing her from finalizing their divorce. Gibson, she wrote, wanted full custody of their son and spousal support.
Cole and Gibson apparently have yet to finalize their divorce. They are, however, currently co-parenting their son and even celebrated his 10th birthday together. Khale made note of the celebration and wrote on March 3, “We celebrating ya B Day all week u heard! Glad we were able to come together and make ya day special 💪🏾 Happy Birthday Again my G.”
