Keyshia Cole has been commanded by a judge to head to divorce court with her estranged husband Daniel Gibson two years after the singer initially filed end the marriage.
Documents obtained by The Blast Oct. 30 reveal that the “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star and her ex-Cleveland Cavaliers player spouse are required to appear in a Los Angeles County court for a hearing on March 16, 2020.

“This is your FOURTH AND FINAL NOTICE,” the documents state. If Cole or Gibson fails to appear, they’ll be fined. Cole filed to end her marriage to Gibson, whom she wed in 2011, in September 2017, citing irreconcilable differences. She had listed the date of separation as Oct. 31, 2014. Allegedly, the marriage fell apart after Gibson cheated on Cole.
An order for the estranged couple to appear in court came after the proceedings have continued on without a resolution. Previously, a judge warned the pair to get a move on with the divorce, which appeared to be moving along for a brief time earlier this year, or possibly have it dismissed.
The couple must also settle their custody arrangements for their only son together, 10-year-old Daniel Gibson Jr. Cole hopes to secure joint legal and physical custody of her son. The singer said on Instagram in January that the custody agreement is what’s halting her from finalizing the divorce.
“I am not giving him full custody nor no damn spousal support! And I’ve asked him over and over to do so, the ball is in his court,” she said. She also noted she “rather not do it” publicly, “but the facts are the facts. And if he were trying to do things the right way, this would have been over.”
Online, folks have given their take on the matter. Some have even disregarded the fact that Cole now has a boyfriend in Niko Hale. The pair recently welcomed a son, Tobias Khale, together and are readying to star in a new reality TV show.
