Diddy made a declaration on social media over the weekend that indicated he may want that old thing back with Cassie despite him seeming to have moved on with someone new.
The on-again-off-again couple split earlier this month and Diddy recently posted an Instagram message dedicated to his long-time former flame.
“If anyone sees @cassie this weekend please tell her to listen to this song 100 times! ❤️ LOVE,” he said on Friday, Oct. 26 accompanied by a screenshot of the Michael Jackson song “The Lady In My Life.”
He also commented on one of Cassie’s photos, “Love you forever.”
Wendy Williams caught wind of the ode and she was less than impressed.
“There’s nothing better than a clean break when you’re young enough to go on and do your own thing,” Williams said on her show Monday, Oct. 29. “Cassie does not have to deal with any of that baby mama drama and that mess. She is 32. She will get another.”
And even though Cassie implied on Instagram that the mogul may have cheated on her, Williams hoped that the two might get back together. But if Diddy truly does want to rekindle their romance, Williams advises her former show guest contacts he ex offline.
“Don’t use social media, though, to reach out,” she said. “I think this is a grand overture from Puffy. I do not believe he really wants her back. I believe he probably treated her at some particular point he like a possession. And if he really cared, he would reach out privately not publicly.
“Thirty-two, no kids, clean break, move on with your life,” she added of the singer. “You got this, Cassie. You got it.”
Even still, it may not be so easy for the singer to move on the way her ex reportedly has with 26-year-old model Jocelyn Chew. Cassie is said to have recorded a new song chronicling her heartbreak called, “Hungover.”
