The ninth contest of Afro-Colombian hairdressers took place on Sunday in Cali, Colombia, with designers styling fantastical creations from natural hair. The African hairstyles, by the Colombians of African descent, have their origins on the African continent and were brought over to Colombia when African people were enslaved  by Europeans.
