Kenya Moore Changes Tune About Her Postpartum Weight Loss

Kenya Moore has already made waves with her incredible post-pregnancy weight loss. But now a before-and-after photo set is sending things into overdrive.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star on Wednesday uploaded two photos of herself from over the past few months. One was snapped in October when she attended Cynthia Bailey’s launch party for the model’s Seagram’s Escapes wine cooler line. The other was taken during the new mom’s 48th birthday trip to a tropical destination last month.

What’s poignant here is that around this time, Moore showed off just how swollen her feet had gotten. Not long afterward, Moore tested positive for having preeclampsia, a complication of pregnancy that is characterized by high blood pressure. It is potentially life-threatening and can only be cured by giving birth.

That’s just what she did on Nov. 4, welcoming her baby girl Brooklyn Doris Daly weeks ahead of her Thanksgiving Day due date.

Presently, fans have been sharing their amazement over the photos.

“All I can say is wow all u snap back ladies congrats💋”

“You look fabulous, the snap back is real😍😍😍”

“Perfection before AND after!!!!! RHOA is not the same without you😭😭”

“You look stunningly beautiful… God bless you, and all your precious family have a glorious Christ filled blessed day…”

Moore’s followers have also been wondering how she managed to pull off such an incredible weight loss. After appearing on Dr. Oz’s talk show and saying she focused on working out and eating lots of fruit, Moore offered another reason for her shedding the extra pounds.

“Thanks for all of the positive comments and DM’s about my ‘SNAP BACK.’ I gained so much weight carrying my little bundle of joy but every pound was worth it when I look at her. Everyone is asking what am I doing to lose weight,” she said on Instagram Feb. 6.

“Well here it is …. I saw a friend using @bodycompleterx and decided to give their program a try which seemed sensible enough for me to follow! Godsend! I’ve been using their Vegan Protein as a simple meal replacement everyday and their kit. Three months postpartum I’m starting to feel like me again! Thanks @bodycompleterx and thank you guys again for liking and sharing my pic! You have this momma feeling fabulous! *Insert Twirl 💃🏽.”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
