‘Just Getting Fat:’ Tiffany Haddish Shuts Down Pregnancy Speculation

Tiffany Haddish made waves in her Golden Globes after-party look Sunday, but not necessarily for the most obvious reason. Fans zeroed in on what they thought was a baby bump accessorizing her dress.

“Living my best life in my @michaelkors dress! Thank you @luxurylaw @makeupbydionne @yvetteshelton100 and @netflix,” the comedian wrote in the caption of the Jan. 6 video where she strutted in a shimmery, cape-clad dress with a plunging neckline.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted what they thought was a bun in the oven in the clip she uploaded following the 76th annual show honoring movies and television.

“U pregnant.”

“Call me crazy but are you pregnant.”

“Is she pregnant?!”

“U look pregnant 💀😭”

Haddish addressed the speculation by responding to one user writing, “@riddie_sama no just getting fat.”

Several fans responded by taking up for the star, who attended the Netflix 2019 Golden Globes Afterparty at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in L.A. She also showed up in her baby blue gown to HBO’s official after-party that same night.

“Hunny you don’t look fat or pregnant! Who’s the hater!”

“You look good @tiffanyhaddish you don’t look pregnant….”

“Regardless of what you broke mfs talking about, my girl doing the damn thing! Period! And the b—- up top that asked if she’s pregnant…nah boo, that’s what happens when you eat TOO DAMN GOOD! Get your money up and you could do it too!(; Stop coming for this girl @tiffanyhaddish before I disrespect y’all! Unless you can do what she does and actually be relevant for it, shut the f— up!👌”

Defense from followers aside, Haddish is used to answering to fan criticism. On New Year’s Day, she was forced to respond to the negative reaction from fans over her standup routine the night before. The Miami show saw her sharing a drink with an audience member and reading from an iPad as her jokes fell flat.

“Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened again,” the actress tweeted on Jan. 1.
