Nicole Duncan-Smith is a West Philadelphia native currently living in Brooklyn, New York. A graduate of Spelman College and the New York Theological Seminary, she has a passion for exploring nuances of faith, Black culture, and music, with a concentration on how Hip-Hop intersects the three.
Over her career, she has worked as an editor and/or writer for AtlantaBlackStar.com, Oprah Daily, Christian Science Monitor, BET.com, theGrio.com, AllHipHop.com, Rap Pages, Vibe Magazine, The Source, The Source.com, Jones Magazine, TheShadowLeague.com, FrontPageLive.com, and Tween Girl Style Magazine. While she loves being a journalist, as an ordained reverend she is fueled by her ministry, being a mother and wife, and documenting the stories of people of African descent.
