‘You Deserve This So Much’: Tia Mowry Drops Hint About Finding the One Thing She Was Missing Months After Going Public with Younger Boyfriend

Tia Mowry still seems blissfully in love with her younger boyfriend Javoné Williams.

The “Family Reunion” actress and educator have been dating for months, and neither has been shy about their feelings for each other.

Mowry, 48, has already introduced Williams, 35, to her family, though it’s unclear whether her children have met him.

The couple often make it loud and clear with images of their adventures and special moments on Instagram.

Now Mowry’s latest post celebrating her man’s birthday has fans piecing together what motivation she might have had for ending her 14-year marriage to her ex-husband Cory Hardrict.

A close friend of Mowry’s dropped a hint in the comments of the Sept. 26 post.

The social media entry included 17 slides featuring photos of the couple, as well as, eight words and definitions that Mowry added to describe her partner.

The words she used were: lovable, kind, thoughtful, steady, safe, devoted, partner, and honorable, and she added one word per slide. She organized the post so that between each slide with words, she added another slide that was simply a photo of them.

“Happy birthday, my love,” she wrote in the caption.

“It’s the little things for me. The way you show up, make me laugh, and make it so easy to be myself around you,” she said, which were some of the words she also added in her post.

“I could have made a whole dictionary of things I love about you, but I’ll start here. I’m so grateful I get to do life with you,” she said, concluding the caption.

“Happy birthday to the incredible man who showed my sis that it’s safe to be loved exactly as she is 🥳 So happy for you both. You deserve this so much.”

Fans rejoiced with her in the comments.

One fan celebrating the couple wrote, “Happy birthday to the man that is making you happy and glow.”

But another comment from Mowry’s friend Vex King, seemed to reveal a little bit more about what she might’ve been missing in her past situation with Hardrict.

King wrote, “Happy birthday to the incredible man who showed my sis that it’s safe to be loved exactly as she is So happy for you both. You deserve this so much.”

The emphasis on feeling safe to be herself is something Mowry put in her caption as well.

But she also briefly talked about it in a teaser confessional for her reality TV series “Tia Mowry: My Next Act.”

It was the “Sister Sister” star’s project following her divorce from Hardrict.

In a catch up convo with Natasha Marc, Mowry said, “I feel that right now, yes, I’m vulnerable in my life, but it’s the first time where I am actually realizing that I have a choice. I have a choice to speak my mind. I have a choice to be me. I have a choice to be happy.”

When Mowry filed for divorce in 2022, she told “Hoda & Jenna” that she wanted to focus on finding her happiness. She said women tend to make sure everybody else is good first.

“But at the end of the day, it’s about self-love. When you start to really work on yourself, love yourself, know your value and know your worth, then all of a sudden, there’s this awakening.”

Hollywood Unlocked reposted Mowry’s birthday post to her man and one person commented, “Wait until Corey shows his new life.”

Unlike his ex-wife, Hardrict doesn’t seem ready to date again.

Though he admitted to Touré in an interview last year that he occasionally mingles, he made it clear that dating wasn’t a priority.

He said, “I believe dating is something that I would be open for. It just got to feel like I’m not chasing it, it’s kind of coming to me. And right now, it’s like I’m still trying to figure out who I am right now.”

Mowry and Hardrict share two children, Cree Hardrict, 15, and Cairo Hardrict, 8.

Less than two months after Mowry revealed that she was dating Williams, People reported that the “Twitches” star and her ex-husband reached a new custody agreement.

They agreed to only go to each other’s house when invited by the other parent. Mowry also agreed to let Hardrict visit the children during her time with them as long as the time is “spent with both minor children.”

Their divorce was finalized in April 2023.

Independent journalism still matters.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
