Years after his second ex-wife Samantha Lee filed his divorce, R&B singer Tyrese Gibson continues to publicly blast the mother of his youngest daughter, claiming that not only is she money-hungry, but also “selfish” and self-serving as she builds up her follower count on social media and on YouTube.
Last week, Lee appeared on the “Hardly Initiated” podcast with Ryan Cathings, where she explained how her divorce from the “Baby Boy” star has impacted not only her but also their 5-year-old daughter, Soraya. She said she understands what her child is going through because as a child she witnessed the “high conflict” divorce of her own parents. She added that she felt remorse about their separation, which was caused by outside influences.
Lee even hinted at a possible reconciliation, which likely sent her ex-husband raging as he dredged up the ugly parts of their relationship hours before preparing to bury his older sister, Shonta Gibson.

On Monday, Oct. 23, Gibson took to Instagram to address her interview, after several attempts to ignore it. He stated again that Lee allowed other people to influence her to leave the marriage, one that he still wanted to fight for, describing the day that she abandoned the marriage and left with their 1-year-old child.
“We both were divorcee kids … grew up in toxic environments … torn in between our old family, new family, stepfather, stepmother,” he said, noting that she wasn’t the only victim. “That’s a life we both lived.”
“You packed up a 1-year-old. Put a COVID mask on top of the ring cameras and I was literally in an airplane on my way home to fight for my marriage and my family,” the “Fast X” star explained, placing the onus for how the child is faring on her, “You’re heartless.”
Gibson claims there weren’t people in Lee’s ear, only her mother, Patricia Randolph, whom he claims has been divorced four times. She claims she also ignored the wise counsel of people telling her not to leave him, including Taffi Dollar, Creflo Dollar’s wife, who married the former couple in 2017. But, according to the star, she still chose to destroy their family and not fight with the same vigor he was willing to fight.
“If you had people in your ear at the time they must be still in your ear because you’re still trying to get $20,000 a month for a 5-year-old,” said Gibson, claiming that Lee makes more than $160,000 a year. “This is all a game. You’re clout chasing. You’re something I don’t even know.”
He added, “If you wanted to be famous, boo-boo, that’s all you had to say.”
The “Sweet Lady” singer then accused Lee of playing on the emotions of single mothers and using three law firms to “suck him dry” in court regarding child support over Soraya, who was 1 at the time of their separation. He believes she’s attempting to earn $20,000 a month in child support as pushback from their prenup, which states she gets “no alimony.”
Gibson also confirmed that Lee “already tried and asked me to come back to reconcile,” but he told her he was already in a relationship with his current girlfriend of two years, Zelie Timothy.
“You f——g with a real one right here. Everybody can see through your bulls—t. I may be alpha, I may be loud. I may appear to be a narcissist as some n—s would say in the comments … no she’s the narcissist,” he confessed. “And a sociopath, someone who will maliciously and vindictively do some s—t. F—k over you, hurt you, be made aware of the fact that they inflicted trauma and pain on you and not even call you or text you to say they sorry.”
He said don’t get it confused. The release of his latest songs “I Don’t Think You Loved Me,” and “Love Transactions,” is no different than Jazmine Sullivan or Mary J. Blige releasing songs about their feelings from heartbreak. But by no means does it mean he wants to get back with Lee: “I don’t want Sam.”
More than just being upset about her remarks on the podcast, Gibson thought it was in poor taste because his family is in such a “dark place” mourning the loss of his sister.
This is crazy. She seems sorry and wants to make things right. She did Tyrese dirty. At least she didn't get anything from her move. pic.twitter.com/5UDNoa9HDx

His rant was later taken down but not before other media outlets and blogs were able to share the video on their social media pages. Typically, fans are calling Gibson out for airing his marital woes online, but this time many sympathized with a man who had his heart broken.
“I believe him ‼️ She’s gaslighting,” wrote one individual. “It’s no way you left a marriage with no real issues warranting a divorce , no valid reason at the time but now 4 years later you want to do interviews about how other influences causes you to leave your husband. Take real accountability and apologize to that man or shut up.”
Another said, “I’m with Tyrese on this one because he literally PUBLICLY PLEADING for her to come back. Pride was gone, ego was gone and you just realized years later we could’ve worked it out!! Girl bye.” A third commenter added, “One thing about Black Ty. He gon name drop, give a timeline, and print out receipts.”
Hours after Gibson’s video went viral, Lee returned with an Instagram video of her own, stating that she would not be “shamed” or “canceled” for speaking her truth. She has turned off the comments of her post but says she will continue sharing advice about relationships on her social media channels.
“I promised God when I started my platform that I would be authentic, that if He allowed me to have influence that I would try my very best to be responsible with it,” Lee explained.
“Choosing Authenticity NOR taking full Accountability without shifting blame/excuses for your actions is NOT easy (trust me I know) and may be shunned… but I tell you what, standing in your truth, no matter who hates it, likes it, curses it WILL FOREVER be worth it.”
Many people have expressed a desire for both exes to stop airing their personal matters online. Some believe Lee is truly seeking fame from seemingly and indirectly discussing their past while Gibson has seemingly moved on to a new relationship.
However, others also recognized that she possesses the ability to provoke a reaction from Gibson by simply dredging up the destruction of their relationship, particularly during this vulnerable time when he is preparing for his sister’s funeral.
Gibson was previously married to Norma Gibson, the mother of his oldest daughter, Shayla.
