Nia Long is taking care of business and can’t be bothered by messages in her DMs. Despite last month’s romantic scandal involving her fiancé, Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, and the team’s service manager, Kathleen Nimmo Lynch, the “Best Man” star appears to be still breaking the hearts of hopeful admirers.
Over the weekend, the 51-year-old actress took to her Instagram page, where she shared a memo that read: “SHOUTOUT TO BLACK WOMEN JUST BECAUSE.” Long captioned that post, “My warrior QUEENS always show up. I love you.”
The message comes on the heels of rapper Cam’ron letting everyone know that he had reached out to the “Love Jones” star via her DMs shortly after Udoka’s affair was made public but to no avail.
The Harlem native shared screenshots of the messages he sent to the veteran Hollywood actress, which read:
“Hey stink. I was giving you some time to yourself till I reached out. Your perseverance as a strong Black woman through this turbulent time has been something to behold. You shouldn’t be taken advantage of and exploited as you did nothing to deserve this. Especially all over these sports networks. You’re bigger and better then [sic] that.”
Killa Cam proceeded to shower his crush with sweet remarks. “You’re a queen, and by the way, I’m a king. Together we can achieve the greatness we were both [destined] for as a couple.” The emcee dove into his bag of talents, adding, “(Une vie a Vivre) that means ‘we have one life to live.’ Pardon my French lol.”
The “Hey Ma” rapper explained that he felt “inspired” to contact the star “as I sit here sipping gazpacho and watching ‘The Best Man’” because “that’s what I am the best man for you!!”
Cam’Ron concluded his message by stating, “Hope to hear from you soon my Mi-amour or should I say ‘Ni-amour.’” He added, “I leave you with this ‘the most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely technical. Until the next time the sun rises and moon falls.’” The rapper said, “This was last week,” before adding, “Still no response.”
The jokes fired off immediately. One social media user questioned, “Nah who wrote this for you?” while another added, “It’s too many of us in her dms. Keep calm Cam.” A third person commented, “That’s some Michael Jordan fourth-quarter Buzzer beater shot.” A fourth assured the emcee, “You miss all the shots you don’t take my boy.”
Long and Udoka have been together for over a decade and reportedly got engaged in 2015. They share 10-year-old son Kez Sunday Udoka. The actress also is mom to 21-year-old son Massai Zhivago Dorsey II, whom she welcomed in her previous relationship with actor Massai Z. Dorsey.
Udoka has since apologized for his actions and has been suspended for the 2022-2023 NBA season.
