On Aug. 16, Adrienne Bailon made headlines after revealing on her social media platforms that she and her husband, gospel singer Israel Houghton, welcomed their first child together via surrogate. This was a monumental moment for Bailon because she became a first-time mom in addition to being a stepmother to Houghton’s four children.
While opening up about their son Ever James Houghton’s arrival, the 38-year-old shared the pregnancy struggles she faced. Immediately following the news, close family, friends and fans alike expressed how happy they were for Bailon by commenting on her upload or reposting the image on their social media accounts.
One person in particular who showed their support was Bailon’s former “The Real” co-host Tamar Braxton.
Braxton took to her Instagram account on Aug. 17 to display her excitement for Bailon and Houghton’s newest addition. While sharing the black-and-white family photo, she wrote, “Boy moms are the BEST moms & anytime someone is chosen to be a mom is a direct blessing from God. I am beyond over the moon happy for my family @adriennebailon and @israelhoughton on the Best Thing EVER!!!! ….”
The 45-year-old added, My nephew EVER! I know just like any other blessing what this means to the both of you. This is what it looks like when God shows up and OUT!! Congratulations guys. I love y’all deep.”
As fans viewed Braxton’s post, many continued to send well-wishes to Bailon as she embarks on this new journey.
“Congratulations adrienne and Israel Houghton on your blessing.”
“Awwwwwww congratulations to Adrienne and her husband.”
“Very well deserved, @adriennebailon. CONGRATULATIONS.”
“So happy for Adrienne she’s going to be a Great Mom! Congratulations Israel.”
“Congratulations to you both! Well deserved! God got y’all always! @adriennebailon@israelhoughton.”
Among the previous responses, others brought up the past drama between Braxton and her former co-hosts from “The Real.” Braxton worked alongside Bailon, Tamera Mowry, Loni Love and Jeannie Mai on the daytime television talk show in 2013, until the “Love & War” singer was fired in 2016, after three seasons.
Following Braxton’s exit, she would ultimately blame the women for her being let go, which they denied. Since, Braxton publicly has made amends with Bailon and Mowry.
Some remarks from social media users over Braxton’s post indicated Braxton may not have been the problem regarding the drama on “The Real.” While bringing up Braxton’s support for everybody, a social media user wrote, “And they said Tay-Tay was the problem. She’s always supported her girls.”
Another person expressed being glad that Braxton and Bailon were able to reconcile. That individual said, “So happy that you all are friends again. I always loved you and Adrienne’s friendship on ‘The Real.'”
Aside from publicly thanking everyone for their well-wishes on an Instagram story, Bailon has yet to personally respond to Braxton’s post.
