‘I Might Be’: Tia Mowry Hints at Returning to ‘The Game’ After Previously Shutting Down Involvement

In August, Tia Mowry shut down rumors about a potential “Sister, Sister” reboot and returning to “The Game” revival in a viral TikTok. Now, the 43-year-old is hinting that she just may reprise her role as Melanie “Med School” Davis.

“Never say never,” Mowry told ET Online. “I mean, as it stands for right now, we aren’t in any talks or communication about me coming back to the show.”

“I know it seems kind of weird, because I’m like, the only one, but you know, Melanie, I loved playing that character, and if…everything works out the way that it should, then who knows, I might be on the show.”

Mowry added, “I will say this, if you guys want me on the show, continue to press, press, press the network and we’ll see.”

“The Game” reboot is weeks away from its premiere date on Thursday, Nov. 11, on Paramount+. Returning series regulars include Pooch Hall, Hosea Chanchez, Brittany Daniel, and Wendy Raquel Robinson.

New cast members joining the 10-episode series include Vaughn Hebron from “The Oval” and Toby Sandeman from “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.”

After starring on “Sister, Sister” with her twin sister Tamera Mowry, Tia embarked on her own journey on “The Game,” which originally aired on The CW. BET later added six additional seasons. Mowry and Hall left the series in 2012 to pursue other projects and returned for the finale in 2015 to reveal the married couple had given birth to twins.

While “The Game” is back to play, Mowry says it’s “bittersweet” her role on Netflix’s “Family Reunion” will soon end. According to Deadline, the 10-episode comedy has been renewed for its third and final season.

“Our pickup was very bittersweet because I’m very grateful to be picked up. To be able to last 3 seasons on any network is a huge accomplishment, especially Netflix,” Mowry says. “Because the shows usually don’t go past 3 or 4 years, my type of show, comedy with kids, so I’m very, very grateful that we are able to continue to tell our story.”

Since 2019, Mowry has played wife and mother of four, CoCo, who becomes pregnant in the final season. “It’s going to be nice to kind of go through that journey, but then it’s a little bitter because it’s our last season,” Mowry shares.

Considering her early years as a child star, the “Twitches” actress admitted she’s become “very protective” of the kids on “Family Reunion” such as Talia Jackson, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Cameron J. Wright and Jordyn Raya James.

“The kids are so phenomenal, and we will definitely stay in touch,” Mowry adds. “I feel like yes, I am their TV mom, but working with children is always so rewarding to me because they remind me of me when I was a child actor. So, I’m very protective over them, and very nurturing, so we’re really gonna make this season the best season.”
