Soulja Boy‘s birthday party, taking place in Hollywood Hills, California, was shut down on Wednesday, July 28, by the Los Angeles Police Department after authorities received numerous noise complaints from residents.
Another issue that the locals also brought up was the large number of people — one of those being Ray J — who attended the rapper’s bash.
According to “TMZ,” there were multiple cruisers and a police helicopter at the scene trying to diffuse the situation. Soulja Boy, who turned 31 the same day, ran late and wasn’t on-site when LAPD began swarming the party, ultimately shutting it down. Prior to the rapper’s arrival, the party’s host OG 3Three reportedly was able to handle the situation with the police and began to ask guests to leave before they started issuing tickets.
When Soulja Boy finally arrived at the festivities, he was gifted a yellow McLaren performance car by Ray J. The luxury vehicle that starts at $200,000 was decorated with several stickers promoting Ray J’s company, Raycon.
Upon making his exit from the bash, Soulja Boy shouted out Ray J for the lavish gift to the paparazzi, and when asked if he was angry about the party being cut short, he simply said, ‘Nah, nah. They just doing they job.”
Earlier in the day, Soulja Boy promoted the party as well as his newly released album “Big Draco” on his Instagram page by posting a photo of himself posing in front of his car. In the caption, he wrote, “Soulja boy birthday bash 6pm triller Hollywood hills California big Draco the album out now 🔥.”
Alongside the initial post, he also shared a video commemorating his 31st birthday by releasing “Big Draco,” which spawned the Triller hit song “She Make It Clap.” Soulja Boy said in the clip, “Big Draco, the album out right now. It’s my mother f–king birthday n–a stop f–king playing with me. Big Draco the album. Draco, Soulja. Stop f–king playing n—a. The first rapper with his own video game console.”
