New Interview: Tamar Braxton Denies Her Relationship with Ex David Adefeso Was Abusive

Tamar Braxton is denying claims from her ex that their relationship was abusive. In a promo clip released Tuesday, Oct. 27, on social media for the following day’s “Tamron Hall” show, Braxton sits down with host Tamron Hall to discuss the dramatic end to her relationship with ex-boyfriend David Adefeso.

The 87-second teaser begins with Braxton saying, “Listen, let me tell you something, Tamron, I am a survivor of a domestic violence relationship and not at any point was David and I in an abusive relationship.”

Hall proceeds to get the “Love and War” singer to clarify Adefeso’s claim that Braxton was recording in the car during their supposed altercation.

Braxton replied, “No, I voice recorded it, he videotaped it.”

“Does that video or your voice recording show any physical abuse,” asked Hall.

Braxton, 43, denied that there was any physical abuse displayed on either recording.

Holding back tears, she continued, “Let me tell you something, Tamron, I loved David. He was my best friend. He was an amazing, amazing partner. He was my son’s best friend, as well. They were best friends. And it’s just so hard because through everything else I never expected this from him. Now I have to be real with myself … Is he acting like this because he found me the way he found me? Probably. I don’t know.”

Hall then said that she was going to give Braxton some time to gather herself and the clip ended.

On Sept. 9, Adefeso took to his YouTube channel to claim that he and Tamar had an altercation while he was driving, alleging she hit him “in the jugular” while he was behind the wheel. He said that as he called his mother Braxton proceeded to “secretly” record him, then sent the recording to his family.

This is the first time Braxton is coming out to tell her side of the story since the messy breakup. She spoke out briefly not long after the relationship ended, but it was mainly to tell friends and family to let her heal in peace and to debunk claims that her Adefeso was a bad man or that it was a “terrible relationship.”

The episode of Braxton on the “Tamron Hall” show airs on Oct. 28.
