If you know anything about Nene Leakes, you know she stays securing her bag. The original cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” recently hosted the 2020 Critics Choice Real TV Awards and pulled out the perfect hairpiece for the occasion.
The awards ceremony took place virtually on June 29 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so Nene hosted the entire show from her Atlanta home. Just because she was at home doesn’t mean she was not going to show out. Nene wore a blinged-out tunic with silver drop earrings. The reality star glowed with her rose gold eyeshadow, pink blush, and a hint of pink lipstick. Nene swapped her signature bright platinum wig for a dark blond hairpiece.
“My wig roots are much darker & longer than usual and parted on the side for the Critics Choice Reality Real TV Awards. What you think about it?,” she wrote on Sunday, June 28. The awards recognize excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming.
Many fans answered her question, expressing the idea that they were fond of her new hairstyle. “Love the dark roots,” one user wrote. “Please stick to this one 😍,” someone else encouraged. Another fan was totally feeling her part. She gushed: “Come through side part Nene 😍🥰.”
The Swagg Boutique owner has sported many amazing hairstyles throughout the seasons of “RHOA,” and it doesn’t seem like she will be ditching her traditional blond hairpieces anytime soon. Nene wore a short honey blond pixie cut from seasons four through seven, but she departed from the show in season eight to focus on other business endeavors. When the “Glee” alum returned to the hit reality show in season 10, she showed off her shoulder-length tresses.
Last year, a fan asked the OG Housewife on Instagram when she was going to change her hair color. She responded: “NEVER! When the f— u gone change yours.”
