‘How Dare You?’: ‘LHHATL’ Fans Defend Alexis Skyy Against Folks Accusing Her of Lying About Sex Trafficking Story

Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” viewers aren’t here for people bashing Alexis Skyy.

Over the last few months, there’s been a debate about whether Skyy was telling the truth about being a sex trafficking survivor. While several “LHHATL” fans accused the urban model of lying about her past, others defended her.

In the April 13 episode, Skyy opened up about her traumatic past and explained how her sex trafficking story began.

“I left home at like 15, 16 years old I was a runaway. I wasn’t kidnapped, but I was held hostage,” the 25-year-old Skyy explained in front of an audience. “When I got there he took my phone, threw it in the water and pretty much I had no way to contact my mom. I was just sold to whoever, the highest bidder, I was like a pawn and I had to forcefully do it or he would say he was gonna kill me and I didn’t wanna die.”

Skyy said she would pray every day that someone would come to her rescue. Her prayers were apparently answered when a stranger, she said, offered her help.

“This guy he was like looking at me, he seen tears coming down my eyes and he was basically like ‘what’s wrong?’ He asked me how old I was and I’m like 16 and he was like alright say less and he dropped me off at the bus station.” Skyy said that was her “only way out.”

A few viewers found the young mother’s story hard to believe because of her less-than-emotional delivery.

“Sorry but I just feel Alexis is just not genuine she saying sorry for bring emotional but looked totally normal, no tears nothing. If its true I’m sorry she went through that.”

” ‘Sorry guys I’m super emotional when I talk about this.’ – someone who hasn’t cried and whose voice is speaking normally. 😐”

“If this is true I feel sorry for the girl but I just can’t trust Alexis. When K Michelle told her story she was balling crying to the point where her makeup was running her story was real. Alexis hasn’t shed 1 tear telling her story”

Others, quickly jumped to Skyy’s defense against those discrediting her.

“If Alexis cry she’s seeking attention … if she don’t cry she’s still seeking attention … can’t win with y’all especially women. It’s not your story you can’t a victim how to react !”

“Y’all sound crazy just cause she don’t show emotion like everyone else something not right …. when u overcome thing and move pass them u reaction is different”

“People heal differently. She might not be emotional because she’s tired of crying. How dare you say she’s lying. None of you know her life or story—You guys are insensitive asf.”

Last month, Skyy also spoke about her experience via Instagram in a now- deleted post. She told fans that she’d never shared her sex-trafficking story to any of her family members and she was hesitant to share it publicly. However, the mother of one added that it was important to use her platform to save other young girls and women from experiencing the same abuse she had.
