Ryan Henry and his love triangle was one of the most talked about plot lines from this week’s episode of “Black Ink Crew: Chicago.”
Viewers were in for a surprise on Wednesday night’s episode when Henry reconciled with his off-and-on girlfriend Rachel Leigh. It previously had seemed he and “Black Ink Crew” New York’s Miss Kitty were on the road to taking their friendship to the next level.
Henry seemingly admitted during the Feb. 19 episode that his love life is a mess. He claimed that he wanted to take his relationship with Kit more seriously but he had a hard time doing so because he still had feelings for Leigh. The 9MAG owner, however, decided it was time to move on from his high school sweetheart and make things official with Kitty.
Henry met with the brand ambassador at a friend’s event, and the pair began discussing their relationship status. He told Kitty his intent wasn’t to hurt her like her ex-boyfriend Ceaser Emanuel and that he wanted something serious.
“It’s definitely not my intent to try and play you out in the same situation that you dealt with over there. … That’s not this,” he told Kitty.
Henry then added in his confessional, “She not one of those types that you just kick it with her a few times and do whatever. I don’t want her to think I’m disrespecting her as a friend or as anything else.”
He then seemingly confirmed they were in a relationship, saying, “We are in a relationship, and for you to feel played like that, I don’t want you to feel like that.”
It seemed Henry and Kitty were finally taking things to the next level in their relationship — or at least that’s what viewers thought.
Henry eventually met with his ex Leigh to talk about them co-parenting their children and their past relationship. He told the mother of two that he was finally ready to move on from her and open his heart back up to love.
Leigh, however, said to Henry that she was still in love with him and was ready to get back together for their kids. “I think I’m ready for what both of us always wanted,” she said.
“One thing about Ryan and I is our love is so deep a lot of people don’t understand,” Leigh noted in her confessional. “It was a split, and I think we both needed that, but that’s not the end of it for me.”
The episode ended with Leigh and Henry on vacation together with their family and Kitty out of the picture.
“Black Ink Crew: Chicago” viewers felt Henry was in the wrong for leading Kitty on to believe it would be something more.
“He played TF outta kitty! Ryan needs more therapy. He shouldn’t waste Kitty’s time like that 🙄 .”
“Kitty should’ve known. Any man that keeps going back to the same woman is a no for me. No woman will ever have Ryan to herself as long as Rachel’s around. He’s handsome but I’d never take him seriously.”
“Awww poor Kitty!. Damn girl, Ryan really had you looking stupid the whole season! Talmabout “we in a relationship” when he see you but call y’all “friends” when he in the confessional. All that drama only for him to go back to RACHEL, if “tek mi fi ieeedat” had a face! 🤦🏽♀️ “
