Monica Reportedly Leaves Shannon Brown House in Divorce

As previously reported, the divorce between Monica and her ex Shannon Brown has been finalized, and details of the divorce arrangement have surfaced.

On Oct. 22, the R&B singer and her attorney appeared in a Fayetteville, Georgia, courthouse, where she got back her maiden name of Arnold.

The two became husband and wife in 2010, and Monica filed for divorce this past March.

According to the Jasmine Brand, it turns out that her ex will keep the house they shared in Fayetteville, and Monica was given six months to relocate with her three children, daughter Laiyah, and sons Romeo and Rocko, whom she was granted full custody of. The 6-year-old Laiyah is the child Shannon Brown shares with Monica.

But she’ll keep two of the family vehicles, a 2016 Range Rover and a 2018 Maybach Mercedes, and neither will pay each other alimony or provide any required spousal financial assistance.

At first, Monica kept fairly quiet about her impending divorce, but she began talking about it over the summer. And she admitted they both played a part.

“We were married almost nine years, and I think life changes really got the best of both of us at times,” Monica explained. “I take accountability for what my part is. Divorce has not been easy.”

And Brown, a former NBA player who now plays for Ice Cube‘s Big3 Basketball league, was asked about the breakup in July, and he didn’t seem too bothered about it.

“When they see me they’re like ‘Are you OK?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m fine,’” said Brown on TV One’s “Sister Circle.”  “It’s part of it, though, when you’re in the public eye. You’ve got to be able to deal with whatever come along with it. I’m strong in my faith and my spirituality, so that’s what pull me or push me.”

A little over a week ago, Brown seemed to show interest in his ex by posting 27 smiling face emojis after she shared some new Instagram photos of herself.
