Gregg, a 63-year-old real estate investor, was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer on May 5, 2018, and after battling the disease for several months, he successfully underwent surgery in June and is now reportedly cancer-free.
His wife, an original cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” posted a photo of him looking healthy and smiling in a paisley printed collared shirt Friday on Instagram.
“Him❤️ Papi,” Nene captioned.
Fans quickly chimed in with praise of their own.
“Greg out here looking like a snack!”
“You go hard for this man 🙌🏾❤️”
“Greg looks like a Dominican papi”
“God is good! Great to see Greg looking healthy and happy!”
“Im glad you stuck by him NeNe. Prayers up for your union❤️”
The last comment may refer to the trouble that the couple faced while Gregg was battling cancer. Nene opened up about Gregg being ‘mean’ towards her and was unsure about their future together. She eventually stayed by his side.
In May, Nene even received an honor from the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies for her dedication as a caretaker for Gregg amid his cancer battle, however, many fans felt that she didn’t deserve such an honor.
“Is this a joke??”
“OMG you have gota be kidding, her work as a caregiver?? She’s done nothing to moan bout it 😡😡”
“And there are many excellent caregivers out there with no attitude and no bs who did twice the work under more tedious conditions…😏😏😏 .”
Fans also blasted Nene for having a good time with a mysterious man at the Kentucky Derby and questioned Gregg’s whereabouts. But while people have critiqued the “OG Housewife”‘s commitment to her husband, the two seem to be doing well as of late.
The couple were married from 1997 to 2011 and remarried in 2013 after briefly divorcing.
