Marlo Hampton’s promotion of her booth at Essence Fest last weekend prompted a negative response from a commenter that caught the attention of Kenya Moore. But when the one-time beauty queen liked the remark, fans let her have it.
Hampton appeared at the annual festival to launch her new wig line, HER, which stands for Haute Elegant Rebel.
“Meet me in New Orleans at ESSENCE FESTIVAL for the soft launch of my wig line👉🏾 HER👈🏾! @her_hair_collection “I created HER to empower women to embrace their inner diva and unleash the (H)aute (E)legant (R)ebel inside! 💇🏽♀️👑💰💰💰#iamher,” the longtime friend of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” shared of the flyer she posted to Instagram July 2.
Many fans were eager to support Hampton, a stylist, in this new endeavor. However, one person felt the message Hampton was trying to spread did not fit her persona.
“‘Created to empower women ‘ 🙄🙄 Marlo has a mean girl, petty and superficial persona on RHOA so it doesn’t work when she starts pretending to want to empower. 🤦🏽♀️,” one user commented.
The remark seemed to be something Moore agreed with as she liked the response on Instagram four days later.
However, if Moore was trying to be shady toward Hampton, it did not work. Instead, fans called out the new mom for her own less-than-kind actions.

While Moore has since come to befriend co-star Porsha Williams, she notably shouted at her through a bullhorn and waved a scepter in her face during the season 6 reunion. The incident led Williams to fight the star.
Moore has also clashed with former peach holder Shereé Whitfield over her home, making fun of the latter for her financial problems that long prevented the completion of her house’s construction
But Hampton isn’t out of the woods either. Last season, she usurped Williams’ room during a group trip to Miami after she decided her own accommodations were not big enough — despite Williams being the one who organized the trip and assigning the rooms at random.
Additionally, Hampton also made newcomer Shamari DeVoe a target after taking major issue with the Blaque singer’s fashion choices.
