Social media isn’t here for Alexis Skyy seemingly claiming herself as Caribbean royalty.
The “Love and Hip Hop: New York” star crowned herself as a “Jamaican Queen” despite folks blasting her for representing the culture. She took to Instagram on Monday and posted a photo of herself seemingly at Atlanta’s
Caribbean Carnival that took place on Memorial Day.
In the image, she sported a scanty blue maxi-dress with her hair in box braids and wrote in her caption “Jamaican Queen 👑 happy Memorial Day 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲.”
Skyy, who’s of Chinese and Jamaican descent, was blasted by fans who felt her “rep” for the Jamaican culture was insincere.
“How come all of a sudden she a rep Jamaica? 🤨😏.”
“You wanna be Jamaican so bad 😂😂 she forcing it.”
“Oh so now you Jamaica being half is not the same as being full.”
“Troubel deh deh Spice the real Jamaican not you.”
A few fans, however, jumped to Skyy’s defense.
“She is Jamaican idiots she’s always repped Jamaica hard since like 2014 🙄 ya’ll hating.”
“Even if she is half Jamaican she still is we stan a queen.”
Other folks gushed over the 24-year-old’s looks.
“Gosh I’m loving these braids @alexisskyy_ 😍😍🔥🔥 you look gorgeous.”
“Omg you are so beautiful keep doing u 💯p-town.”
Speaking of her appearance, the reality actress was slammed by fans last month for what they deemed as enhancing her physical appearance. She was spotted vacationing at the Jamaican Carnival in April wearing a skimpy samba costume. Skyy dismissed the accusations by saying she had just “gained weight.”
After giving birth to her and rapper Fetty Wap‘s now-1-year-old daughter Alaiya Grace in January 2018, the “LHHNY” star admitted that she has gotten her breasts done. In a now-deleted post from last year, she described the pain she experienced while trying to pump milk with breast implants, saying, “pumping hurts.”
