“Love and Hip Hop: Miami” star Amara La Negra appears to be in love, and she’s spilling all the tea on how she met her novio.
The proud Afro-Latina artist announced that she was in a new relationship on April Fools’ Day, but many fans took it as a joke. Now she’s letting fans know that her and her new boo are apparently quite serious, dishing the scoop on how they first met.
La Negra said she first met her beau Emjay, who happens to be the brother of her cast mate Shay Johnson, at courtside of a basketball game in 2017.
“This picture was taken in 2017 thats when we met I didn’t even know @iamshayjohnson nonetheless that they were family,” La Negra wrote on Instagram Thursday evening, along with a photo of her and Emjay.

She said the only reason she sat next to the bachata and R&B artist at the basketball game was because there weren’t any other seats left.
“That was just pure coincidence and a paparazzi took a picture of me but I always say that God has a funny way of working,” the reality star explained. “It’s all about timing. … and no this is not a @loveandhiphop storyline.”
Emjay also posted a few lovely photos of himself and La Negra sitting together on a park bench. He’s seen planting a kiss on her cheek as she grins from ear to ear.

“She said tell me something sweet Papi so I gently kissed her face and said your skin #saylessanddomore #whatsunderstooddontneedtobeexplained #youseeit 🤞🏾,” the bachata artist wrote on his Instagram.
The pair’s posts of each other prompted a wave of responses from social media.
“Ooo yall looking so good together 😍❤️ super bellos🔥.”

“He may just be using her for a storyline and to get on the show 🙄.”
“She should’ve kept this private now the media is gonna be in their business 👀.”

It’s unclear how long the pair have been dating, but they look quite happy together. La Negra apparently has her cast mate Johnson’s approval to date her brother, as she commented a heart eyes emoji underneath the Dominican native’s post.
La Negra was linked to dating Usher in the past after they were photographed walking out of a club together. She, however, denied the rumors.
She was also at the center of controversy during season 2 of “LHHMIA” after a few of her cast mates accused her of trying to make a pass at their boyfriends. However, the “Unstoppable” artist appears to be happy with her new paramour.
