Although “Basketball Wives of L.A.” friends Shaunie O’Neal and Tami Roman don’t appear to be at odds, fans are still on the fence about O’Neal.
The pair’s friendship seemingly went through a rough patch during season 7 of the reality series after O’Neal was accused of turning on Roman and teaming up with her foe Evelyn Lozada for television ratings. However, O’Neal insists the pair are still friends.
One fan, in particular, commented underneath an Instagram photo of the “BBW” executive producer on March 15, advising Roman to unfriend her.
“I hope that Tami never f–k with you again,” the person wrote.
O’Neal replied back, “Welp,” with a slew of laughing emojis, prompting fans to chime in.
“Well Tami shouldn’t because Shaunie really don’t have her back 🤷.”
“Damn why y’all trying to make them have beef SMH they still are friends!”
“Shaunie and Tami have been friends for a while they gone always f–k with each other 🤷🏽♀️.”
“Shaunie so fake what Tami do to her?”
“Tami still shouldn’t be cool with her. Shaunie bout fake af. That was shade.”
The negative comments sparked O’Neal to fire back at fans who accused her of throwing shade at Roman.
“Misery loves company smh. It’s a whole lot of miserable ppl trolling the internet. @tamiroman and I don’t have any beef… my entire life is not on IG,” said the mother of 5.
Rumors have been circulating that the now shoe-designer won’t be appearing on the series’ upcoming season. Fans have prodded O’Neal about her long-time friends’ return, but she’s remained mum.
However, Roman did confirm earlier this year, it may take her some time to comeback to show.
She told “Entertainment Tonight” in January, “You know, I actually loved doing ‘Basketball Wives.’ … “I’m just at a place right now where it’s about protecting my energy and my space and my zen. I have to protect it. And so, even within the ‘Basketball Wives’ world, if I were to go back, certain changes would have to be made for me to be comfortable in that environment. But we’re still in talks. I don’t necessarily know if I’ll return, but we are talking about how everybody can be comfortable in that environment.”
