Van Johnson quickly became the object of “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” viewers’ wrath after his “side chick” Evenita tried to boss up on his longtime girlfriend Jennifer, aka Jenn.
During the 9MAG crew’s trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, for a tattoo convention, Johnson found himself in the bed with his seemingly clingy apprentice Evenita. He finally came clean to Jenn, his girlfriend of 10 years, about his two-timing actions, but it put another dent in their relationship. Jenn’s solution to repair their broken union was to hold a shotgun wedding, which ended in shambles after Johnson intoxicatedly called it off.
Fast-forward to a deleted scene from episode 6, where Johnson’s love triangle takes a further turn left the moment his side piece and girlfriend come face to face. Evenita left the crew’s Las Vegas Airbnb after she found out Johnson and Jenn were preparing to walk down the aisle. She showed back up at the house apparently a few days later with what seemed like a vendetta against Jenn. The moment she walked back through the door and tried to explain why she came back, Jenn unleashed on her.
“Shut the f–k up,” Jenn screamed. “Don’t get no liquid courage and fool yourself.”
Charmaine Walker, the tattoo shop’s former assistant, tried to mediate the situation and told Evenita that her being in the same space with Jenn wasn’t going to be a “healthy situation.”
Johnson then intervened by pulling Jenn aside to calm her down. Evenita, who appeared enraged by jealously, yelled, “Your n-gga don’t even like you. … Guess what? The first night that n-gga fu–ed me was your daddy funeral night, ho! It was the night your daddy died!”
Jenn lost her father in 2018, the cause is unknown.
Walker who was still standing by Evenita, was disgusted by the apprentice’s brutal words. Before telling Evenita to “get the f–k out” she told the girl how “disrespectful” she was. Walker then “perfectly” tossed a plastic bowl filled with fruit at Evenita’s face.
Mayhem ensued, with the other “Black Ink” co-stars trying to attack Evenita, including Jenn, the shop’s assistant Bella, and Junior Diaz‘s girlfriend Adriana. VH1 security quickly intervened and escorted Evenita off of the premises.
Infuriated by what they’d just witnessed, “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” viewers blamed Johnson for causing drama between Jenn and Evenita and allowing his apprentice to foully disrespect his girlfriend.
“First Evenita shouldn’t even have any info about Jen from the start, she got that s–t from pillow talking with Van 😡😡 .. What a piece of s–t a– nigga. Jen clock him in his s–t!”
“That’s all Van fault! Smh Niggas Ain’t S–T ! Smh he allowed that! Ebonita sooo trash 🗑.”
“Everybody mad at ol girl need to be mad at Van 🤦🏽♀️😱🤬. He should have never put his woman in a place where someone else can come and disrespect her period!”
