Tamar Braxton Takes Her Adoration for Her Nigerian Boyfriend to a New Level

Tamar Braxton has become less and less shy about keeping her new flame away from the public eye.

Just weeks after removing a video of her and her Nigerian boyfriend at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s concert from her Instagram page, Braxton posted a video that showed her man clearly, aside from some huge sunglasses he was rocking.

“I mean, Jesus. Is that Jesus walking out of the water? Hallelujah,” Braxton says as she films her man, whose name is rumored to be Yemi, walking out of the infinity pool shirtless.

“🎤 Said I wasn’t gone tell nobody but I….😂😂😩🤷🏽‍♀️,” the singer added in the caption.

Braxton’s excitement over her man has become more and more palpable in recent weeks as she has been unable to keep herself from gushing about her new love.

“I mean, he’s the real-life T’Chella,” Braxton told St. Louis radio station 95.5 The Lou during an interview last month, likening him to the “Black Panther” character T’Challa. “He’s originally from Nigeria but he’s been here [in America] … he lives in California … He is fine.”

She had an even more glowing review of her man during a stop on “The Wendy Williams Show” where she indicated she’d be open to getting married again if he asked her. She also said she’d love to have children with her Harvard grad mate.

“I absolutely would love to have some wonderful, beautiful African children,” she said.

Fans have taken note, too. They gave Braxton all the permission in the world to brag about what’s hers.

“U Deserve 😘⚘👉✌💯😊#EveryBit.”

“Gooooo girl! I love it.”

“💕🙌🏾 So Happy for you Tay Tay!!!! You deserving all of God’s goodness! 🇳🇬 👑 aren’t they just royalty! I know I got mine! 😉.”

“Yasssss show him off queen 😍😍👋 I can hear the happiness in ya voice.”

“😍 gone head sisss.”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
