Porsha Williams has finally confirmed what fans have suspected for months: the reality star is pregnant!
Williams is set to welcome her first child with boyfriend Dennis McKinley and the parents-to-be were emotional upon learning the news.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I was excited [but] I had mixed feelings. The other feeling that I had beside excitement was fear,” she told People magazine for its new issue hitting newsstands Friday, Sept. 21. “I’ve had a miscarriage before in my past, which I’ve also been open about because I suffer with fibroids and had to have a myomectomy. So just the fear of, ‘Is the baby going to be okay? Will I make it full term?’ All those questions that you ask if you’ve had a miscarriage before.”
She said her McKinley, who learned the news on his birthday, has “probably shed more tears during the process than me.” But “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star noted that when she went to her first appointment “and being able to see baby and hear baby and know that baby is fine, then I can really wrap my mind around actually becoming a mommy.”
Although Williams and McKinley, whom she’s known for years, only began dating earlier this year, she said the “surprise” pregnancy has strengthened their relationship.
“The pregnancy came from the left, but it definitely has brought us closer together because you realize when it sets in that you are actually bringing a life to this world, that you have become family overnight,” she told the magazine, adding, “we work really hard at wanting to be a good couple and build a strong foundation for our new family that we’re going to have.”
“The thought of me getting that blessing after praying for it for so long and getting that blessing with someone who is just as excited as me — it’s Dennis’ first child, just like me — and it’s something we’ve both always wanted … It’s like a dream come true,” she added.
Williams is certainly giddy about the news. On Instagram page Wednesday she told fans,”❤️I am happy, healthy… and pregnant! #BabyMckinley 👶🏽 #DM❤️ #Blessed *Check out our full baby story in @People Magazine on newsstands Friday🎉”
The announcement resulted in tons of congratulatory messages from her fellow reality TV stars.
Williams’ confirmation comes after tons of speculation from fans who continued to believe she was pregnant.
It also follows her RHOA co-star Shamea Morton dishing to Atlanta Black Star that the new season is all about “babies, babies, babies.” At the “Night School” screening earlier this month, Morton was cagey about addressing Williams’ possible pregnancy, saying, “I don’t know.”
