Trina Braxton has no ill will for her sister Traci Braxton. The new “Sister Circle” host weighed in on the controversy surrounding her sibling continuing on with filming the family’s WE tv series “Braxton Family Values” without her sisters.
Towanda and Tamar Braxton have said that the family was “blindsided” by Traci adding Phaedra Parks to the cast while the rest of her sisters and their mother walked off the set. But Trina has a more understanding take.
“I will never regret standing by my family as a unified situation and coming together,” she told Atlanta Black Star Monday, Sept. 10 at the premiere of the movie “Night School.” “However … my sister had to do what she needed to do for herself and her personal family. And the network had to do what they needed to do to not go black so everything happens for a reason and had that not happened I wouldn’t be on ‘Sister Circle.’ So I’m grateful for every experience that God gives me.”
The Braxton family famously brought filming to a halt earlier this summer while Traci was the sole member to come to work. Trina previously explained she felt the family was “ill-advised.”
“It wasn’t my management — the one I had and have,” she told “Bossip on WE tv” of how the family decided not to show on set. “What we said we were gonna do was we were gonna collectively use the same person. … We decided to do this as a family so we’re gonna use this one person instead of this lawyer calling this person, this manager calling this person or whatever the case may be.
“To me, in my personal opinion we were ill-advised,” Trina added. “I should have stuck with what I knew. However, here we are.”
Meanwhile, WE has been broadcasting episodes of Trina’s adventures with Parks and promised to air an explosive two-part season finale of the sisters in a mediation with life coach Iyanla Vanzant.
