Steve Harvey’s beard continues to be the focus of his Instagram page despite a recent post meant to celebrate his son’s birthday.
The talk show host on Monday posted a photo of himself looking relaxed in a casual outfit and posing alongside his son, Jason Harvey, who turned 28 on Aug. 27, and the comic’s grandson, Noah.
“Happy birthday second oldest son Jason Harvey,” Steve wrote in the caption. “I’m proud of you, son.”
Several fans sent out well-wishes for Jason’s birthday.
“Happy Birthday…Enjoy!”
“Happy Birthday Wishes To The The Second Oldest Son. Enjoy Your Special Day…”
“Happy Birthday wishes to your 2nd oldest!! 🍾🎂🎉”
“Happy Birthday Jason.”
But attention quickly turned to Harvey’s facial hair, which is unusually abundant with the inclusion of his beard.
“Keep the beard😀😀😀.”
“Like the beard💯🙏🏿.”
“I like the beard. Keep it.”
“Looking good old man! I love the beard and the color!”
“I love the beard, very distinguished.”
Harvey initially debuted the beard while he was on vacation with his wife Marjorie Harvey and their family this summer. During the fam’s trip around Europe, the “Steve” host let his whiskers grow out into a salt-and-pepper brush.
“In Paris doing radio, coming back home soon and I will be taking votes on keeping the beard or not…..” he said in an August 14 Instagram post.
Several fans chimed in to give their thoughts. And while many of the comments were positive — much like the ones on Steve’s birthday post to his son — others were decidedly against the beard.
“Shave it, you look old with it.”
“Please, get rid of the beard, sir. I love your original look, sir.”
“No Steve, [let’s lose] the beard.”
Even still, others made it clear that only Marjorie’s opinion mattered.
“Whatever Marjorie said I am riding with her 🌷.”
“I don’t care Steve cause at the end of your decision, Marjorie has the last say…lmbo. BOOM!”
