Tamar Braxton just revealed she’s hitting the road with Snoop Dogg and it’s not a typical concert tour. The singer and the rapper are about to be flexing their acting chops as they make stops around the country as part of the award-winning director and producer Je’Caryous Johnson’s new stage play, “Redemption of a Dogg.”
“So me and uncle @snoopdogg is going on tour😜 singing, acting, rapping and being who we are!!!! Your city will be posted soon! #getchalife🤩 #redemptionofaDog,” Braxton said on Instagram Aug. 8 of the new gig.
The play, presented by Johnson and Snoop, is the follow up to the stage play version of the hit ’90s heist film “Set It Off.” It will feature the music of Snoop’s discography, which spans 25 years, and follows a man’s quest to maintain his life’s legacy by deciding between wealth and fame and religion and family. He winds up having to fight to redeem himself before losing it all — including his soul.
It’s not quite clear what Braxton’s role in the play will be, but tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 10 and so fans can soon find out more as the show tour begins this fall.
Fans hearing about the news swiftly began expressing their excitement over seeing the singer in a new venture.
