Wendy Williams is once again refusing to blame R. Kelly for his actions against his accusers and even cried over the way she says parents have pushed their kids on him.
“Parents, you need to watch who you let loose your girls around,” Williams says on the Monday, May 7 airing of her talk show. “And these girls these days, a 15-year-old girl damn sure looks 20. They carry themselves like 20, too. They’re no longer just 15. And if you’re so desperate that you want your kids to be stars or whatever and you’re gonna unleash your daughters to the world, you better watch what you get.
“Because this is not these girls just running away,” she continues. “There are parents who gladly will push their 15-year-old lip gloss poppin’, booty poppin’ and all that stuff to the arms of an older man. Sorry, I just get disgusted with this.”
Williams added that Kelly admitted to her years ago that he can’t read, write or add. And while she won’t disclose how he “maneuvers through the world,” she failed to understand how Kelly could be so uneducated.
“And I don’t understand parents who unleash their kids…” Williams says beginning to cry. “That’s it. That’s it. It’s just a deeply moving story to me. Because I know all of the story. he told me things I was… I’m like, ‘Why are you telling me this?'”
This isn’t the first time Williams has apparently taken up for R. Kelly. On her show in January, she proclaimed the “Me Too” movement won’t affect Kelz because he’s not a predator like the likes of fallen movie executive Harvey Weinstein.
“The ‘Me Too’ movement hasn’t affected R. Kelly, ’cause R. Kelly, he wasn’t a ‘Me Too,'” she said. “Aaliyah voluntarily married him when she was 15 years old. And her parents voluntarily let her do it when she was 15 years old. And that little girl that I saw with my own eyeballs that he urinated on and he had his way with, was there at his house, she let it go down.”
Meanwhile, fans have been chiming in on Williams’ latest R. Kelly remarks.
“Yeah, I’m not buying those tears,” one person said. “Why would R. Kelly trust someone who spills the [tea] for a living?? And if he goes to court you better be ready to testify, girl, because apparently you know ‘stuff’ 👀 and you are saying it out loud.”
“Wendy makes no sense with the R.Kelly situation,” someone commented. “There is no way we will feel bad about him. So bring another person to the interview because this is just disgusting.”
“I agree,” another said in response to the comment above before referencing the sexual abuse the star opened up about in a 2012 memoir. “Idc if he can’t read or write or that he was molested etc, that’s no excuse for what he’s allegedly doing.”
“She makes sense, she just expressed it in a confusing way,” another wrote. “He’s a disgusting pedophile. She made some meaningless ‘promise’ to a sicko, there’s no such a thing as protecting a toxic destructive sicko. This would make you a destructive enabler. This sicko needs to go already.”
