Amber Rose Slams #MeToo Movement for Leaving Out Black Women

Amber Rose has a bone to pick with the Me Too movement and its inclusion — or lack thereof — of Black women.

The SlutWalk founder supports the movement created by Tarana Burke in 2006 but wants the current iteration to do more for Black women.

“Every woman deserves justice,” she tells TMZ Sunday, April 29. “I just feel like a Black woman started it and then she just didn’t get the recognition that she deserved. And then it just became about rich white women. Although they deserve justice as well — just like every other woman — just don’t leave us out. That’s all I’m sayin’.”

This isn’t the first time Rose has been critical of #MeToo. In a February interview with Paper magazine, the former stripper discussed the double standard that exists between white women and more marginalized groups.

“Maybe because I used to be a stripper, or maybe because I’m extremely outspoken,” she said. “But they didn’t want to help me, and now I see them at the Golden Globes and they’re wearing black and all of a sudden they’re feminists. But I’m still not invited, I still don’t get any help from anyone, because I don’t just advocate for Hollywood starlets. I advocate for the strippers and the porn stars and the gay boys that get raped all the time. Transexuals — all of the people that are forgotten, they’re all at my SlutWalk. So it just becomes frustrating to me because, now all of a sudden, all of the women that are in $20 million movies are coming out and now everybody wants to help. They forgot about the regular people like us.”

The following month, she spoke to the treatment of Black women on the talk show, “The Raw Word.”

“It’s kind of frustrating to me because all of a sudden, feminism became such a mainstream thing now that white — no shade — white, rich actresses start coming out saying, ‘Met too, me too,’” she said. “But, what happened to all of us? What happened to the strippers, the LGBTQ community, and the Black girls in college? Nobody wanted to talk about these people.”

In response to her remarks to TMZ, several folks backed Rose up.

“SPEAK ON THAT SH*T AMBER!!! I always thought u were sexier than Kim K😏,” someone tweeted.

“I really don’t disagree,” someone else said.

“The funny thing is she is right 😂,” another commented.
