Tamar Braxton is aware of the criticism she has received as of late, and in a candid new Instagram post, she’s laying herself bare. The singer filed for divorce from Vince Herbert in October, and now she’s shedding some light on what went wrong.
“I don’t … well, didn’t, like me either,” Braxton said on Instagram Wednesday, Nov. 8 of how she’s changed amid her marriage woes. “I told myself I would do whatever it took to keep my family together, to see a smile on someone who has seen us smile … hoping we could offer them [the] hope, faith, love and dignity that I once possessed. But the truth is all of those things are NOT within the marriage of Tamar and Vince … at least not anymore.”
“Sometimes we stay ‘married’ for face value or to say ‘we did it’ but the truth is..it couldn’t be more broken and further apart than we are NOW!..even on an anniversary!” she continued, acknowledging the former couple’s ninth wedding anniversary on November 26. “I decided I didn’t want to be married for the sake of saying so. I wanted to have a relationship. Someone to share my/our dreams, our successes, our failures, our past, present and future with..and not finding out s— online.”

Braxton concluded by indicating the public didn’t know about their spats or how she was never home.

“While I’m not pushing anyone out of the door,” she said. “I’m just telling you what has pushed me out of mine!That LAST time was the LAST time.”
The couple had been struggling in the last year, with reports saying that there was a domestic disturbance in their home. Most recently, the couple put their California home up for sale. It followed a September court order that music mogul Herbert had been ordered to pay Sony $3.7 million.
But at the Soul Train Awards Sunday, Nov. 5, Braxton looked in good spirits — sans wedding ring — as she graced the red carpet ahead of her performance.
