Despite attempts to maintain their union, Tamar Braxton has reportedly filed to divorce her music mogul husband. TMZ reported Braxton, who has been plagued by divorce rumors for years, submitted divorce papers on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in Los Angeles County. The former couple, who are parents to a 4-year-old, have remained mum on the report. However, there have been rumors that their marriage had problems for some time.
“[I’m] upset about the lies claiming she doesn’t care about me,” Herbert told HipHollywood after a car accident and an emotional InstagramLive stream from Braxton. “That’s my wife. I’m really sick of the lies. Sick of all the blogs.”
In September Hebert was ordered to pay Sony $3.7 million after the label claimed he did not allow the company to recoup an advance, TMZ reported. Soon after the couple put their Calabasas, Calif. home up for sale.
During that same time, Braxton announced her album “Bluebird of Happiness,” would be her last so she could focus on her marriage.
“There are a lot of things that I want to do, and a lot of things that are in the works,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “There’s a lot of things that are going on in my relationship and me being close to this music industry, and whatever I can do to eliminate all of the stress and problems off of my relationship, I would rather do that.”
Tamar’s and Vince’s Romance
Earlier, an Instagram post from August seemed to show Braxton was still sprung on Hubert, but her caption said otherwise.
“*RUN* Chile…#issascheme ..that ain’t the Holy Ghost,” she wrote.
The statement led some to question if her marriage was in trouble.
In March of this year, the couple was plagued by reports of infidelity, a woman claimed Herbert fathered a child with her in 2008 soon after he married Braxton. The star fired back saying, “Let me be CRYSTAL clear before this untrue story gets out of hand,” the former host of “The Real” star began. “If this was [true].. she would be MINE as well… she would be all over MY Instagram, media outlets, pictures, interviews etc.”
Braxton also shut down divorce rumors while speaking to Essence Live, including a story that she called 911 on her husband over a domestic dispute last year.
“Things are great. Things are amazing,” she assured People magazine that same month. “It’s marriage, so today it could be amazing and tomorrow it could be a bumpy road … but we’re in it to win it.”
Braxton and Herbert’s WE tv reality series, “Tamar & Vince,” premieres for a fifth season Nov. 9. It remains to be seen if their separation will be chronicled on the show.
