New ‘A Madea Christmas’ Trailer Comes With Surprises

Film and television producer Tyler Perry has just released a full-length “A Madea Christmas” trailer, which features Perry in the role of the no-nonsense, cantankerous grandmother.

In Perry’s seventh installment of his hit franchise, we see Madea working as Santa in a department store, until best friend Eileen (Anna Maria Horsford) coaxes her into traveling with her to a rural town to pay a surprise visit with her daughter, Lacey (Tika Sumpter).

The ladies arrive to find their own big surprise (hint: It’s the latest trend that’s being pushed hard in Hollywood).  The film is a classic fish-out-of-water story, with Madea dealing with redneck in-laws and cow poop. At one point, she teaches a class full of kids that Jesus “was born to the Virgin Mary … J. Blige.”

Perry wrote and directed the film, which aside from Horsford and Sumpter, stars Chad Michael Murray, Larry the Cable Guy, Kathy Najimy, Eric Lively, Taylor McPherson and Alicia Witt to name a few. We recently reported that YouTube sensation, Antoine Dodson, is set to make an appearance in the film.

“A Madea Christmas” is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 13. Watch the new trailer below and take a look at two posters that were recently released.
