Tiffany Haddish made headlines earlier this year after the actress was arrested in the metropolitian Atlanta area of Fayette County, Georgia, for DUI suspicion. The incident occurred on Jan. 14, when officers received a 911 call about a driver sleeping behind the wheel.
At the time of the arrest, Haddish was suspected of being under the influence of marijuana and ultimately charged with a DUI and improper stopping on a roadway. The “Girls Trip” star was later released after posting a $1,666 bond.
During Haddish’s arrest, it was reported the comedian previously had suffered significant losses in her life, including the passing of her grandmother, a close friend and “Full House” star Bob Saget. Haddish briefly spoke about the incident in January during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
On April 15, while guest hosting “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Haddish joked about the unfortunate time in her life during her monologue. In the skit, she also mentioned going back on dating apps following her breakup with Common and her trip to Eritrea.
The 42-year-old said when addressing her DUI, “Since I been single, I’ve been praying to God to send me a man, and in January, he went ahead and sent me four in uniform. Yeah, they were the police. They got good benefits and everything, so I can’t even be mad. And yes, I did get charged with a DUI, which stands for Dumb Unfortunate Incidents.”
Haddish continued by showing her mugshot and sharing that she plans on using the mistake as a profitable venture by turning the photo into an NFT.
“Still cute… looking good. I’m going to go ahead and turn that into an NFT. Got to get paid. Got to, you know, they say with every disaster, every mistake, you got to find a win, and that’s what I’m doing, winning.”
