‘We are Not Together and That’s Cool’: Tammy Rivera Opens Up About Filming a Reality Show with Her Estranged Husband Waka Flocka Despite Their Separation

It appears that the separation reports that circulated online last year about reality stars Juaquin “Waka Flocka” Malphurs and Tammy Rivera are true.

On March 21, Rivera, who went on Instagram Live to inform her followers on what she’s been up to, confirmed while discussing their new reality series that she and the rapper are no longer together.

In the footage captured by 9Mag TV, the 35-year-old said, “I’ve been filming for the new show. Which has been, it’s been pretty good this season though. Even though me and Waka are not together, we still have this show. We still have to film the show, it’s been cool. It’s been pretty good.”

Rivera also updated her fans on Malphurs’ relationship with her daughter, Charlie Rivera, whom she had before meeting the “Round of Applause” emcee.

While discussing the pair’s difference in parenting, she said, “Waka and Charlie is good. They’re really good. They be together all the time. He just picked up this game for her cell phone without me knowing, which I feel we got to co-parent.”

The entrepreneur added, “We didn’t co-parent good when we were in the same household. It ain’t going to be better now, now that we are separated and in different households. He’s still doing the hell he wants to do, but that’s his baby so I understand.”

Rivera wrapped up her statement by informing her followers that she won’t be talking about her and Malphurs’ relationship during the entirety of her Instagram Live, and claimed the reason why she got on was because she was tired of being “out of shape.”

She said, “Y’all not going to Waka me to death with no damn questions about Waka and all that stuff. I said the man fine. Him and Charlie good, we good. We are not together and that’s cool. We’re good, we’re in good spaces. Now ask me some other questions because I came up here because y’all I’m tired of being out of shape.”

As Rivera’s separation admission became viral, many people applauded both parties for not putting their issues on social media and keeping the breakup as civil as possible.

“That’s how it’s suppose to be, still being adults… even during a separation, without the drama on social media.”

“I’m so glad they didn’t get on here and bash each other.”

“This is how an break up supposed to be nice and quiet off of social media.”

“I like how they separated and nobody ever knew. No messiness, just adults being adult.”

“At least she didn’t come to social media and tell her business.”

Rivera and Malphurs have been married since 2014.
