Stevie J‘s run-in with a “fan” who confidently referred to him as “Puff Daddy” left viewers in stitches.
Comedian Gerald Huston stopped the “Growing Up Hip-Hop” producer while at an airport and jokingly freaked out over meeting his “favorite artist,” Diddy.
“Oh my God, my favorite artist! Puff Daddy, oh my God, it’s Puff Daddy, boy!” exclaimed the comedian as he was greeted by Stevie J. “P. Diddy, do the dance, man. ‘Take that, take that!'”
The former “Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta” star made light of the interaction and laughed while responding, “I am Puff Daddy tho. The real one. I made all the money.“
Fans were tickled by the comedian poking fun at the producer and reality star.
“Not “take that, take that” [laughing with tears emoji][laughing with tears emoji] and here go Stevie going along with bulls**t”

Some of the video’s viewers also noted that although Stevie’s comment was made in jest, there was a bit of truth behind it due to Stevie J and Diddy’s professional past — the two worked together throughout the ’90s when he was part of the mogul’s original Bad Boy “Hitmen” team.
“I became the hit man. I share that because a lot of the tracks that we were working on, they were sample-based records,” he told The Undefeated in 2016. “And I was the cleanup man as far as every record that had a sample. I had to recreate every sound with the live instrument. Even though we had samples, our songs would sound so full because I’d replay every instrument on them.”
“He didn’t lie!!! Lol he was behind all them Bad Boy hits.”
“That’s the real tea cuz Puff took all the credit for his beats lol.”
The producer opened up during a 2010 interview with YouKnowIGotSoul about the “really intense” experience he had while working with Diddy during the early days of Bad Boy, explaining that the mega-producer was a hands-on figure who always had a clear musical vision in mind.
“From the producer side of things, he had the ear, so he knows exactly what he wants to hear, even before it’s done. It’s like a perspective where he already has a picture painted,” he said. “So it’s like putting a song together and choosing the right sounds and the right tempos and the right breaks to go here, the right break beat records to use here, he’s excellent at that. So he’s really intense in the studio.”
