Rick Ross is collecting checks and ovations as he ventures into the world of acting.
Marking his acting debut on social media, the “richest boss” shared a clip of himself in a scene with Queen Latifah and actor Tory Kittles for CBS’ “The Equalizer.” In the season-two episode (episode nine) titled “Bout That Life,” Ross plays incarcerated rapper Gregory “Dilemma” Blickman who is accused of murdering a fellow artist.
He captioned the clip, “Much love to the icon @queenlatifah for the opportunity. Check out my major tv network acting debut on @theequalizercbs acting alongside @torykittles @cbstv.”
The episode, which aired Sunday, Jan. 9, highlighted some talent that the rapper who boasts a multimillion-dollar business portfolio on top of his already successful music career had yet to tap into. Fans were quick to flood the “Richest I Ever Been” rapper with salutes to his seemingly innate acting ability; some even coined him “Renzel” as a play on his name combined with the name of acclaimed actor Denzel Washington.

Ahead of the episode airing, show runners Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller also raved about Ross’ performance. “He is perfect in this role of a chart-topping hip-hop artist caught up in a world of violence. Ross knocks it out of the park,” they told “Entertainment Weekly.”
The guest spot, which seems to be a hit for all involved, may open a path for Ross to take on even more roles in the future. “Let the directors know big boy doing big things,” said Ross in a separate video where he asked fans to give him feedback. Either way, the “Boss” will continue to find ways to further build his empire.
