“Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada is lending a helping hand to small Black businesses. Taking to Instagram with a boomerang of her in a leopard print face mask, the 44-year-old reality star shared that she was going to be supporting mom-and-pop shops by promoting them on social media.
“I have received so many messages from women who have been sharing their stories about how they have been grinding to keep their businesses open,” she wrote. “So, for the next two months, I will be promoting a business a day. From today until the end of the month, I will be focusing on #supportingblackbusinesses.”
Evelyn added, “So if you are interested, please send info about your business with any images you want to share to [email protected] and I will add you to the list!!”
Wrapping up her message with a shout-out to a small fashion company, the New York native used a series of hashtags to promote her good deed. “#smallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #supportsmallbusiness #supportblackbusiness #supportblackbusinesses #supportwomenentrepreneurs“
The mother of two implied in her caption that she was only going to support Black female-owned businesses. However, she later clarified in the comments that she wanted to uplift enterprises owned by men as well.

As a result of George Floyd‘s death, people across the country have been fighting against racial injustice and police brutality by protesting and buying from Black-owned companies. Approximately 3 million people are sharing their favorite Black-owned restaurants and stores by using the hashtag blackownedbusinesses on Instagram.
Floyd passed away on Memorial Day after Derek Chauvin, an ex-cop from Minneapolis, arrested him, pinned him to the ground, and pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes. Chauvin has since been fired. He faces an unintentional second-degree murder charge, along with original charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
