‘Here We Go Again’: Princess Love Fans Not Surprised After She Seems to Confirm Separation From Ray J

It looks like Princess Love and Ray J Norwood are headed toward splitsville.

The second-time mother recently revealed she and the “One Wish” singer were no longer together. During an Instagram question-and-answer session, a fan asked, “R you and ray-j still together?”

Love responded, “Not right now.. right now we’re just focused on the kids.”

The couple’s apparent separation comes after the birth of their second child, Epik Norwood. Love and Ray J welcomed their son on Dec. 30, and the singer/rapper even wrote a sweet message to his wife at the time, saying, “I love you @mzprincesslove so proud of you. Strongest women in the world and the mother of my children. ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

On Ray J’s Instagram page last week he even posted a sweet video of himself, Love, their 1-year-old daughter Melody Love and their infant son having a family play date at the playground. He wrote in his caption, “Today couldn’t be better! Thank you God for this! It’s the biggest blessing I will ever have! @melodylovenorwood @epikraynorwood @princesslove.”

Last November, drama erupted between Princess and Ray J after the mother of two took to social media to claim her husband left her and baby Melody stranded in Las Vegas to party with his friends.

Although the model threatened to divorce her husband, Ray J later suggested to People magazine that he and Princess were still together.

“We cool now and we’ll work it out,” he told the publication in a Jan. 1 article. “We’re good though, as parents and as friends and as husband and wife. We just went through something.”

Clearly, Princess has a different opinion.

Nevertheless, social media users chimed in on the couple’s drama and had mixed reactions.

“Wow. I’m so shocked that things aren’t working out between them. 🤷🏽‍♀️”

“Here we go again what else is new 🙄 they’ll be back next week. They’re on and off more than my light switch”

“She know she asked herself that question 🌚 she knew how that nigguh was when she married him 🤷🏼‍♀️ they don’t change sis”

“Why even answer that question period 😩 keep y’all martial issues IN-HOUSE 🙄 keep your business to yourself 🤦🏾‍♀️”

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
