Pooh Hicks has become quite an interesting character on this season of “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta.”
The Atlanta socialite and wife of former president of Island Black Music Hiriam Hicks caused a bit of commotion on the VH1 series after accusing her cast mate Karlie Redd of having a threesome with Hicks and her husband, which Redd seemingly admitted to.
The ongoing drama between Pooh and the 45-year-old television veteran led to a huge social media spat, with the two VH1 stars almost coming to blows on the series and several unanswered questions from viewers about their squabble. Pooh, however, gave more insight into their beef while appearing on the “Domenick Nati Show” Tuesday morning, but not before dropping a shocking revelation about her past dating life.
“Me and Queen Latifah, we have dated in the past,” she told the radio host. “It was a long time ago it was when I was in my 20s. … When I was 24, 25 years old.”
The CEO of Artist Factory Studio said she met the “Set It Off” actress through mutual friends and began dating her when she was experimenting with lesbianism. The pair apparently ended things on good terms a few months down the line.
“It was a good breakup,” she noted. “It’s just that I wasn’t’ ready for the lesbian scene at the time because I was young and quite didn’t understand it. … It wasn’t really a ‘breakup’ breakup, it’s just she went on to Hollywood and did her thing and we just went our separate ways.”
As far as Pooh’s feud with Redd, she said their supposed threesome was the least bit of her issue with her co-star. They apparently had other issues that needed to be addressed.
“I was coming to her to talk about other issues, because to me a threesome is not that deep,” she added. “She wanted to convince her friends and the fans that we didn’t do it, so we just ended up talking about that. … The threesome did happen.”
Pooh added that she and Redd even took lie detector tests which she claimed she passed and Redd failed. She also noted “that the truth came out about” their situation at the reunion and Redd spent “two hours” crying.
The “LHHATL” newcomer also addressed a few rumors circulating about her and her husband’s 11-year marriage. She confirmed she and Hiriam do not have an open relationship or are swingers, but they do have threesomes from time to time.
“I like to have a good time from time to time,” she said. “When I bring a woman into our bed like on a special occasion. … Like if it’s Valentine’s Day or his birthday.” She added that she and Hiriam are parents first before anything, but they do have a little bedroom fun occasionally.
As for her role on “LHHATL,” she said she’s “the one to keep it real.”
