Keyshia Ka’Oir and her husband Gucci Mane are under fire by fans who accuse them of showboating their wealth instead of helping those in needs.
Ka’Oir celebrated her birthday this past weekend with friends and family. Several celebrities were in attendance at her lavish party, including Trina, Carlos King, Joseline Hernandez, and more. However, the highlight of the night came after Gucci surprised his wife with a brand-new SUV.
The “Money Machine” rapper presented Ka’Oir a 2019 Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV in scarlet red with white leather seating. He reportedly dropped at least $325,000 on the SUV. The vehicle perfectly encapsulated Ka’Oir and Gucci Mane’s lavish theme party.
However, the couple’s over-the-top spending received a broad backlash from fans. Folks called out Gucci Mane and Ka’Oir — who just this past September took to Instagram to display herself sprawled atop her new baby-blue Lamborghini — for indulging in ostentatious spending instead of helping the less fortunate.
“When they come from nothing they don’t know how to act when they get it…Unnecessary money spent when they can help those that are not privileged🤦🏽♀️.”
“They have a net worth of 22 million TOGETHER. The way they spend it on all this flashy stuff instead of helping others who need it!”
One fan jumped to the couple’s defense by saying they’re not obligated to help underprivileged people.
“Hey we don’t know what they donated or gave out. They probably participate in many charities! Its their money.. they are not obligated to help anyone.”
Ka’Oir and Gucci Mane found themselves in a sticky situation after the rapper’s child support dispute with Sheena Evans, the mother of his son Keitheon. In August 2018, Evans requested $20,000 a month in child support in order to raise their son, compared with the $2,076 she’s receiving. In court documents she referenced Gucci and Ka’Oir’s alleged $1 million wedding and said his income has increased drastically since the beginning of his career.
In November 2018, Gucci fired back and claimed he wasn’t financially able to increase child support for Evans. He called her monthly expenses “suspect” and requested the court shut down her request. He claimed in legal documents that there was no substantial increase in his income and denied dropping over a million on his wedding.
The rapper’s child support case with Evans is still pending, and the pair have yet to reach an agreement.
